Radboudumc, an academic hospital in the Netherlands, has designed a new space called the "Garden Room" to facilitate video consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This space combines the best practices from evidence-based design guidelines, user feedback, and the hospital's own unique vision to create a comfortable and efficient environment for conducting virtual appointments. The Garden Room features 18 video consultation rooms, four shared work spaces, a relaxation area with a kitchen, and four meeting rooms. The design of the Garden Room emphasizes ergonomic considerations, technological advancements, and patient privacy to optimize the experience of both patients and healthcare professionals.
